I am thankful for...

I am thankful for GOOD BOOKS!  I love reading a book that touches my heart or makes me spend time thinking deeply about a certain topic.  I just finished Life As We Knew It by Susan Beth Pfeffer and am headed out to get the next book in the series The Dead and the Gone.  This book has made me think very deeply about what I would do if I thought the world was coming to an end.  What would I have to live without?  How would I survive?  Would I want to survive?

In this story, an asteroid hits the moon and actually forces the moon to move closer to Earth.  Since the moon's location has changed, tides are affected, volcanoes erupt, ash fills the air and climates change (and that is just the beginning!).

Miranda, the narrator, tells the story of this event through her many journal entries. Her journal entries tell the story of how Miranda and her family face the struggle of living in a world that has changed.

I guess I always felt even if the world came to an end, McDonald’s still would be open.

What would your journal entry say?
