Author Visit - Lisa Graff

Last week the 6th grades were treated to something that has never before happened at Woodland Middle School. Published author, Lisa Graff, spent two days telling students about her experiences as an author. Ms. Graff has written three books and has a fourth one due out in the fall of 2010. Signed copies of her books are available at the book fair this week.

All students were given the opportunity to enter the Lunch with Lisa writing contest that gave them the chance to have lunch with Ms. Graff, ask her personal questions and take a picture with her.

Battle of the Books

Congratulations to the Woodland Middle School Battle of the Books Team! They recently competed in the Lake County Battle of the Books Event and took 3^rd place.

This event was held right here in the middle school LRC after school on March 4^th. Our team prepared for about one month prior to the event and was VERY excited for the day to finally arrive. Teams from Deer Path Middle School in Lake Forest, Highland Middle School in Libertyville and Beach Park Middle School also attended the competition.

If you are interested in participating next year, start reading and taking notes on the 2011 Rebecca Caudill books. In the fall, you can see Mrs. Perrin in the LRC about joining the team.
