The Hunger Games

I finally had time to read a book that I have been wanting to read for a while now, The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. It has definitely been added to my list of all time favorite books. I can not wait to start the sequel Catching Fire.

I have always wanted to try my hand at making a book trailer, so here is my first attempt. Enjoy!

If you liked Twilight...

With the imminent release of the movie New Moon, students are constantly asking about other "vampire" books that we recommend. An exciting new series that was recently added to the Woodland Middle School collection is titled Vampire Kisses. The series, written by Ellen Schreiber, currently includes 6 books, as well as, books in graphic novel format. Fans of this series will have to wait until May of 2010 to read book 7!

Here is a sneak peak at book 1 of the series, written by guest reviewer Jasmine R...

Raven......you could say she is the oddball in the town of Dullsville. Ever since she was a little girl, she has always wanted to be a vampire! After her 16th birthday, she finds out that a family has moved into the haunted mansion on top of Benson Hill. One of them happens to be the dark and mysterious Alexander Sterling. When Raven starts to hang around with Alexander, she wants nothing more than to find out if the rumors in town are true. Is Alexander really a vampire? Will her love for him be enough? Find out when you read Vampire Kisses.......
